I Want to Live in Color

Amy Corbin

I don’t care if we make love
would just like to be craved
that ache of pent up desire
be his glass of lemonade on a sticky afternoon

I want to laugh out loud in movie theaters
get in a water fight on our driveway
eat Pad Thai noodles straight from the take-out container
sleep like those soft pretzels from outdoor stands

I wish to live in color
savor all the minutes of each hour
put them in pretty glass jars
on high shelves out of harm's way

We need to take the time to do these things. This poem made me feel good. Thanks.

Thanks, Lee. That's probably about all a person can ask for.
