No. I do not charge a fee to look over submissions to my magazine, Wanderings. If your story is accepted for publication in Wanderings, it will be edited at no charge to you.
Will my story have a better chance at being accepted by Wanderings if I use your editing service?
I expect that it would. Because I offer my opinion on how your story could be improved, it follows that if you make changes based on my suggestions then your story will likely be more appealing to me. That being said, I want to stress that I do not expect authors to use my editing service as a way to improve their chances of being published in Wanderings.
Do you offer any kind of guarantee or warranty on your service?
I do guarantee that you will receive an edited copy of your work that notes every technical problem I find and offers an honest opinion of your work. If for any reason I am unable to complete and deliver an edited copy of your work, your payment will be refunded in full.
I can't promise you that my editing will cause your work to be accepted in any particular market, or even in the writing market in general. Anyone who says that they can fix your story so that it will definitely get picked up is probably not being honest with you.
